not so hard to hit as you think...

Very good forged iron. To be perfectly honest, I cannot tell the difference between the Nike blades and other companies' offerings. Ball flight, feel, all were about the same. Nike's blade tended to have a thinner topline, which I liked, I also liked the straight muscle back. These are the two reasons I went with the Nike blades. Like all blades when struck flush, it feels like an armgasm. It's almost like cutting with a really sharp knife if that makes any sense.So why blades? I have read in many places that you have to be a "ball striker" in order to hit blade irons. I have found that is not the case. I am at best, a 15 handicapper, and I love these clubs. I believe that you cannot learn to hit the center of the club face unless you know you didn't hit the center of the club face. These clubs tell you that. At impact I instantly know where on the club face I hit the ball. I have also found that I focus just on hitting the ball solidly, that focus has lead me to be much more consistent. Off center hits also are not as bad as people would have you believe. Misses are short, but they are straight, which is a huge advantage (playing short of a green from the fairway versus right or left in the woods). Finally, game improvement clubs would never work for me as my big miss is a hook (when really bad, pull hook), and when I get into trouble with my swing I fall back to a knock down shot (a low "stinger" if you will). Game improvement clubs exacerbate my miss left and my knock down shot becomes a high flying short shot.These won't turn you into Tiger Woods, and in fact I think my full shots are a bit shorter than with cavity irons, but I don't think I will ever go back to a full cavity club again. I am much more consistent with these clubs, and my scores have been coming down nicely since I have put these in the bag. Don't buy into the golf company hype...
